Data

Research on criminal groups usually faces the challenge of a lack of consistent data across time. For this reason, I developed the first publicly-available dataset for criminal groups over time in Brazil. It covers the years between 2004 and 2021 and uses Google Trends data downloaded from the Google Trends API.

I use these data in an article that was published in the journal Trends in Organized Crime.
